On multilateralism, two simultaneous processes are taking place: voices of distrust in multilateral forums proliferate while the defence of multilateral politics intensifies in the public debate. Has multilateralism failed the test of the pandemic? Or, on the contrary: if not for international institutions much less would have been known about the virus. What is multilateralism in the 21^st century? Can societies be multilateral actors and mend what state policies fail to fix?
