W dniach 23-24 listopada 2009 r. w Moskwie odbyło się wspólne seminarium eksperckie PISM i Akademii Dyplomatycznej Ministerstwa Spraw Zagranicznych Federacji Rosyjskiej poświęcone analizie możliwości i warunków rozwoju współpracy między Rosją a NATO. Dyskusja dotyczyła trwających w NATO prac nad nową koncepcją strategiczną Sojuszu, postrzegania zagrożeń i wyzwań dla bezpieczeństwa, a także szans na poprawę polsko-rosyjskiej współpracy w dziedzinie bezpieczeństwa. Ponadto 24 listopada dyrektor PISM Sławomir Dębski oraz dyrektor III Departamentu Europy MSZ FR Siergiej Nieczajew wystąpili z wykładami na temat stosunków polsko-rosyjskich przed audytorium złożonym ze studentów i wykładowców Akademii.
