Eastern and South Eastern Europe Programme

Programme Coordinator: Piotr Kościński

Analysts:

As a country at the EU’s external border, Poland is especially interested in developing close relations with states in its eastern and south eastern neighbourhood. At PISM we examine Poland’s relations with post-Soviet and South Eastern countries, the European Union’s policy towards Eastern Europe and the Eastern Partnership. We also examine the enlargement process in the Western Balkans and Turkey. The domestic context and foreign policies of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, the Balkan and Baltic states as well as Turkey is also one of our main concerns . Emphasis is placed on energy issues, including steps launched by the main suppliers of energy resources and by transit states, in particular whenever those may impact significantly on the energy security of the European Union and Poland.
