The idea behind the present collection of studies is to discuss in a comparative manner the European policies of selected member states of the European Union. In analysing the evolution of these policies, the point of departure is provided by changes on the domestic political front of respective countries, usually a shift of power as a result of parliamentary or presidential elections. In a nutshell, the question explored by the authors is: Does a major transformation on a member state’s internal political scene result in substantial changes in its relations within the EU? Does an internal policy change result in European policy adjustments?
