Dr. Patrycja Sasnal is the head of the Middle East and North Africa Programme at PISM. She is also a member of the advisory expert council on migration at the Polish Ombudsman’s Office. A political scientist and an Arabist, specializing in Middle Eastern and American studies, migration, radicalization processes, EU neighbourhood policy, systemic transitions and political philosophy she is a member of the European Working Group on Egypt and a 2010/2011 Fulbright scholar at Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Johns Hopkins University in Washington, DC. She was associate at the American University in Beirut, IFEAD in Damascus, and studied at Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris III. She published in Le Monde, Insight Turkey, EUobserver, The Globalist, Al-Ahram and Polityka.
Dr. Sasnal lead several projects: the „SPRinT” Strategic Partnership in Transition project (Marie Curie IRSES Fellowship) and a EuroMeSCO project on the role of religion in transitional processes in the Arab world.
