Expert Seminar: The North Korean Nuclear Issue as a Global Security Threat

On 9 May 2018, the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM), in cooperation with Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Poland, organised expert seminar “The North Korean Nuclear Issue as a Global Security Threat”. The event provide an opportunity for Polish and South Korean experts and officials to exchange views and knowledge on the latest developments on denuclearisation and peace regime on the Korean Peninsula.

The keynote was delivered by Professor Choi Young-jin – former Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the U.S., Permanent Representative to the UN, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, UN Assistant Secretary-General, Chancellor of Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) and chief negotiator within Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

Among invited experts were representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, South Korean diplomats accredited in Poland, scholars from Polish universities and analysts from think-tanks.
