Shireen T. Hunter – studia na Uniwersytecie Teherańskim (licencjat), w London School of Economics (magister stosunków międzynarodowych) oraz w Institut Universitaire de Hautes Etudes Internationales w Genewie (doktor w zakresie stosunków międzynarodowych). Wykładowca Georgetown University, ekspert w zakresie Bliskiego Wschodu (szczególnie rejon Zatoki Perskiej), Basenu Morza Śródziemnego, Rosji, Azji Środkowej i Kaukazu Północnego i Południowego.
